Hey Guys

Just a quick one for you.

People who research into the paranormal talk a lot about EVP Electronic Voice Phenomena.

This is purportedly to be the voices of deceased individuals caught on tape, or digital recording equipment. Now I know it has been proven that the spoken word can be left as an imprint in solid materials, Like Age old pottery for instance.

What do you think on EVP? Possible, Plausible?

Have any of you out there actually experienced it?

Craig

Hey Craig,

cracking topic,

have you seen the film 'white noise'?

You mention its been proven a voice can leave an imprint in solid objects, how's that then?

regards,

Den.

Hey Den

Yes mate I have seen white noise, its a very good film indeed.

here is a link for you mate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archaeoacoustics

I have looked into this many times before, and even played around with digital recording equipment in my own home. I seem to pick up noises in the dead of night when everyone is asleep and no one is around, they are very feint but they are there.

if you look at our world as we see it now, as just another plane of existence, or realm if you will. some soundwaves we cannot hear, some we can, but IF indeed the ones we cannot are trapped or caught at a certain moment in time, then we should in theory be able to capture them. Digital equipment picks up more frequencies than we can hear normally. so if this is the case, where does it come from? human voices picked up with no one around that can be seen?

there are more questions than answers, all I know is.... its bloody fascinating, and spooky lol

oh and the solid object comment, check out mythbusters on the net, and look for a topic called pottery record.... most intruiging.

Cheers Craig,

I have mythbusters series 1 but havent had time to watch it yet!

Maybe it will be on there.

Noise of the sort you talk about is radiation from space passing through and no I don't know the tech details off hand sorry.

As to mysterious voices, my baby monitor picks up mobile conversations, other peoples baby monitors, ie crying and talking etc, real spooky at first.

More questions than answers, youre starting to talk like a philosopher, or our good friend Mark Laughing

regards,

Den.

some decent links on there, some can be explained,
some however are very hard to explain and makes you wonder what is really possible

It's a very interesting one alright. I personally believe it's a "Pareidolia" - where the brain tries to recognize patterns from chaos. Much like seeing a face in a cloud - It seems our Brains are "hard wired" to do this.

I found this on Wiki:

Pareidolia:
"describes a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant. Common examples include images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon, and hidden messages on records played in reverse."
