Penn and Teller, two quality illusionists have released 5 series of BULLS**T on dvd.

Okay, seen the fifth series now. It is entertaining and there are standout moments, but there are definite signs that the series may have "Jumped the Shark". For a start the use of swearing and nudity is getting tedious. I get the point with both, but now they seem to be committing the cardinal sin of ignoring the "less is more" rule. The Mount Rushmore episode about super-patriotism was interesting, details about the height/weight index commonly used was a great education point for me and highlighted something I have often wondered, and debunking colonic irrigation/detoxing was a long overdue topic. However, the series often felt a little thin on the ground. The breasts episode, for example, is purely a case of cultural opinion. The anger management episode does not debunk anger management, but only discredits the "venting" type of anger management. It is a shame, as I still love the series and am glad I bought it, but this is perhaps the weakest so far. Hopefully it will pick up again in the sixth.

Hopefully Jamie,

I have seen the first 3 series and like everything some episodes were soso,

but overall worth having in the collection, if only to fill some knowledge gaps Smile

Den.

Yep, all 5 series are worth owning. I couldn't agree more, if anything to prompt you to do your own research. That's what scepticism is all about after all.
